Ajmal kasab is finally held guilty today for the 26/11 incident which shook Mumbai because of the brazen manner in which it was carried out. Indeed it took 17 months and a lot of tax payer’s money to get to the verdict which was more of an open and shut case. The legal course which the judiciary has taken was certainly time- consuming but at the same time the only way forward.
It’s very easy to nail the verdict before the verdict is actually given out. Law looks at the evidence it doesn’t take into account the emotions and the fever related to the case. That is exactly the reason why it’s a victory for the judicial system in India. We did see a lot of TV footage showing Kasab and his aide, but that painfully does not act as evidence. People's testimonies are required for this which then acts as evidence.
So what should be the maximum punishment for such an inhuman act? Is capital punishment the only way ahead?
Considering the fact that kasab was only a pawn and the main perpetrators are still at large is not great news. Tomorrow there will be 10 more Ajmal kasabs hanging out at CST. Will providing death to Kasab kill terror?. We have to look for preventing the malaise before it gets to us. Our state intelligence which clearly failed to detect the event should be equally responsible for the act.
My heartfelt feeling for the relatives and their friends of the deceased. How painful would it have been to experience those last moments where you are neither on this part of the fence nor the other. What it would have been to be happy at one moment and struck with fear the very next second. Death penalty is the only option left here because that is what will seem to calm all the anguished media and the public in general . But will death of Ajmal kasab get the loved ones back. Will it even deter the main perpetrators from staging another such event? I don’t think anyone would agree in the positive for the above questions. Martyrdom leads to heaven that is what is instilled in these terrorists and Kasab I believe would be happier to die once than die a hundred times. My opinion is that he should be given the strictest of life imprisonment where he should be made realize the ghastly nature of his attack.
In retrospection we have to understand the deeper root causes of such an attack, why has it been possible for any person to go on a rampage like this. What goes in making of a Ajmal Kasab.
I guess the answer lies in the question itself.

Phoren degrees in india
Okie so now we will have our own Imperial college in India. So as the HRD minister describes it this would be a reality ,creating a boom in education sector comparable to the telecom sector. I am happy for the fact that government has put the correct foot forward in this regard, my concerns are that getting a foreign degree is not really much about the degree. It is the sort of experience you get staying in a alien country that is important. Dealing with day to day issues , coming up with solutions, building the self confidence to overcome situations thts what it is all about. These are the kind of virtues that will be steady in the long run as opposed to degree itself
So the point of Discussion here would be whether to go abroad for the degree or for the experience. Another aspect to this thing is the regulation of fees charged by these foriegn universities, there should be some cap on the fee structure. It should benefit any common indian who wishes to seek a foreign degree. Because if there is not much difference in the home fees and overseas fees i would might as well got to the foreign country to get the degree. Other than this there should be a separate grading system, any University which has good credentials abroad may not neceesarily transfer the same credits to its offside campus. The issue of Quality control is something that then becomes important. Proper Quality checks is something that should be looked after.

Better late than never
hello People
So i guess i am making my point with the title of this blog , since this blog is coming after a gap of nearly 5 months. A lot of things have kept me busy during this period. Apart from the fact that i used to have recurrent bouts of Acute pancreatitis every month till December which eventually lead to me loosing my Gall bladder ( Dont worry its not that bad after all, i am still alive).
The condition known as Microlithiasis happens due to small stones like sand in the gall bladder which in turn hits the pancreas and causes inflammation. So now after all this i fell much better.
Apart from all this rubbish i had a chance to go to Malaysia for a couple of months as a prospective job offer. So the place is good , work is hectic but is interesting. Leading a group of people is something i fancy specially when they look upto you. Had the chance to visit Langkawi - a geopark protected by the UNESCO. Amazing beauty, sheer thrill . When u reach at the highest point on the cable car, u actually get to see the whole island at about 800 feet above sea level. Nature personifies itself with its sheer landscape and scenery. You fell blessed that you are born to witness it. You travel the whole world to experience beauty and here it is in front of you, making a mockery of you. You can just watch and watch and just watch .You Dont see Intelligence in it , what you see is grace , astonishing grace.
